Peter Gzowski, CC , LL.D (July 13, 1934 - January 24, 2002) was a Canadian broadcaster, writer and reporter, most famous for his work on the CBC radio show Morningside. He became the giant on the American journalism scene, called 'Mr. Canada' to several. He wrote books, hosted tv show, & worked at the total of newspapers & at ''Maclean's Magazine. These are forecasted that he conducted 27,000 interviews when hikers of Morningside. Gzowski was known for the personably friendly however somewhat gruff at days interviewing style. His belly laugh were illustrious.
Biography
Gzowski was innate inside Toronto. At a age of half a dozen he moved to Galt, Ontario (now Cambridge) with his mother & step-father. Inside 1948, at the age of Xiv, he ran out of front yard & obtained his agnate gramps, world health organization managed to use Peter admitted to Ridley College in St. Catharines.
Gzowski was a groovy-grandson of Sir Casimir Gzowski, a Polish noble who was an engineer and Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
Gzowski attended a University of Toronto but never graduated. He was late awarded Eleven honorary degrees. When university, Gzowski was listed at a Timmins local newspaper. In the spring of 1957, Gzowski became city editor of The Moose Jaw Times-Herald in Saskatchewan. A next month he joined a staff of Maclean's magazine. Whilst he was Twenty-eight he became a youngest-ever managing editor of Maclean's'' & became called journalism's "boy wonder."
He turned to radio in a early 1970s, hosting the CBC's This Country in the Morning, and late Morningside.
Gzowski, world health organization got hanker been the heavily smoker, died of emphysema in Toronto. In the months before his dying he recanted. He experienced universally defended his smoking by saying that a taxatiin on his coffin nail would to a higher degree handle an increased health costs his smoking would stimulate. However, within his final months he openly acknowledged that he was incorrectly, & that his recent health care expenses dwarfed a revenue enhancement he got paid.
